I was asked to join this collaboration with Mapping Prejudice, Just Deeds, Free the Deeds, and CURA to create 50 graphics for a weeklong social media campaign designed for Instagram. The task was to explore issues around reparations and inspire conversations about racial equity and home ownership in the Twin Cities.
I created a visual identity system for the campaign using a weathered but vibrant color scheme that incorporated colors from each organizations brand. Each day’s post focused on a specific topic, such as Naming and Overcoming Barriers, Present Day Examples of Reparations, and the Business Case for Reparations. Collaborating team members generated text to support topics. I then designed 10 slides for each day’s post.
Below are the slides supporting the Business Case for Reparations. All 50 slides from the week’s campaign can be seen on Instagram @freethedeeds.
